Dr. Katie Austin-Boulos
Licensed Doctor of Audiology
Katherine “Kate” Boulos, is a licensed Doctor of Audiology in Westminster, Colorado. while her husband Peter works as a Structural Interventional Cardiologist in the greater Denver area as part of the Intermountain Health Care system. Kate earned her doctorate from the University of South Florida in 2015 and began work at an ENT practice in Tampa, Florida. She worked for Phonak, a leading hearing aid manufacturer for 7 years until she “retired” to focus on her family and new passionate messages in spreading awareness as a result of a tragedy followed by blessings that struck her life. She is starting her own non-profit in the Audiology space while hoping to grow her family in the coming years. Kate was born and raised in Orlando, Florida with a loving family of her parents, Jill and Tony, and two brothers, Tommy and John. Her family was uprooted on August 6, 2022 when her oldest brother John was killed by sudden cardiac arrest at age 36 while playing basketball in Brooklyn, New York. The league was well organized, yet no AED at the park, nor the knowledge of how to recognize and act quickly by any of the bystanders. Her grief has led her to Starting Hearts as she wants to prevent the pain her family feels from ripping through as many other families as she can through education to the public and increasing awareness and number of AEDs. She wants to normalize Call.Push.Shock.™ and empower more people to act to provide early care to save precious lives.
